GRANT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Chapel & York UK Foundation (the ‘Foundation’) is a registered UK charity, number 1172653.

The Foundation is pleased to be able to help your organisation as part of our mission to support the advancement of education, the relief of poverty, the advancement of religion and such other purposes as are exclusively charitable under the laws of England and Wales.

The Board of the Foundation meets quarterly to award funds (‘Grants’). If your organisation receives a Grant, then your organisation becomes the “Grantee”.

Any Grant made to your organisation by the Foundation shall be subject to the following terms and conditions, and your acceptance of any Grant signifies your acceptance of such terms and conditions.

  1. The Grant funds will be used by the Grantee for the charitable purposes the Grantee has annually advised to the Foundation. If there are changes to the purpose of the Grant, the Grantee shall submit a written notice to the Foundation.
  2. The Grantee agrees that any and all Grant funds will be used exclusively for exempt purposes and shall repay to the Foundation any portion of the Grant that is not used exclusively for charitable purposes.
  3. No portion of any Grant may be used for any propaganda purposes, to participate in any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office, to make subgrants to individuals on a non-objective basis, or to subgrant to any organisation for non-charitable purposes.
  4. The Grantee hereby certifies that, with respect to any Grants that it receives from the Foundation, the Grantee is in compliance and will continue to comply with all applicable UK laws relating to its use of funds inside and outside of the UK.
  5. The Grantee shall notify the Foundation immediately of any significant organisational changes during the term of the Grant, including any changes in charitable status.
  6. The Grantee will permit representatives of the Foundation to review the activities of the Grantee and will permit the Foundation to conduct an independent financial and/or programmatic audit of the expenditure of the Grant.
  7. The Grantee certifies that it does not knowingly support (including through subgrants), employ or do business with, directly or indirectly, individuals, entities, or groups that are subject to sanctions, that appear on The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) sanctions lists, or with individuals, entities or groups known to the Grantee to support terrorism or to have violated sanctions. Upon request, the Grantee shall provide to Foundation all names and information requested by the Foundation to substantiate that this verification is, and continues to be, accurate during any period when the organisation is requesting, receiving, or expending funds from the Foundation. In the event that this verification is no longer accurate, the Grantee will promptly notify the Foundation and offer, subject to the Foundation’s further request, immediate repayment of the Grant.
  8. The Grantee will provide an annual report of the use of Grants from the Foundation, providing evidence if the Board of the Foundation should request it.
  9. The Grantee provides permission for the Foundation to use photographs, logos, published/printed information, and any other materials the Grantee supplies, without further notice, in websites, press releases and/or publications.
  10. If the Grantee should violate the terms and conditions of this Grant, the Foundation reserves the right to withhold any payments not already disbursed and to seek repayment of funds already disbursed, if appropriate.
